Brightspace
Brightspace is the designated learning management system for FIT for all teaching modalities.
The Office of Online Learning and Academic Technologies offers LMS support through workshops and appointments.
Faculty Development and the CET
The Office of Faculty Development and the Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET) provide faculty support for teaching and professional development. The CET lab
in the Business and Liberal Arts Center, B 502 is open 24/7 and provides access to
all insturctional software used at FIT.
Gladys Marcus Library
The Gladys Marcus Library is located on the corner of 27th Street and 7th Avenue in the Shirley Goodman Resource
Center. The library provides a wide range of resources and services to faculty and
students.
Faculty Support Resources
Faculty Development Grants and Awards
The Office of Faculty Development runs the Faculty Development Grants and Awards program (FDGA). FDGA provides funding opportunities for faculty conference travel, research activity
and special projects.
Online Learning and Academic Technologies
Online Learning and Academic Technology manages online courses and supports the introduction of new academic technologies.
The office is located in the Business and Liberal Arts Center, B502-1
Grants Office
The Grants Office is ready to answer questions relating to all aspects of grants, including funding
sources and guidelines, partnership opportunities, FIT and SUNY policies.
Registrar
The Registrar's office is located in the Marvin Feldman Center, ground floor.
Faculty Services
Faculty Services oversees faculty records and supports the Faculty Senate. These offices
are located on the 14th floor of 333 7th Avenue.
Faculty listings are updated twice each year, in January and July. To make changes or additions to your listing please follow directions outlined here.
All credentials must be in your personnel folder and verified by Human Resources before web updates are made.
Faculty Senate
Faculty Senate, comprised of numerous committees, is the college's faculty governance
body.
Student Support Resources
Advisement Center
Advisement Center, part of Academic Affairs, helps guide students through their programs and course
selections. The office is located in the Marvin Feldman Center, 4th floor.
Academic Skills Tutoring Center
The Academic Skills Tutoring Center offers free tutoring for all full-time and part-time students enrolled in credit and
developmental courses for the current semester. A variety of tutoring options in a
wide range of disciplines are provided.
Writing & Speaking Studio
Writing & Speaking Studio provides writing and communication support to students and faculty. The Writing &
Speaking Studio is located in the Marvin Feldman Center, 6th floor.
Enrollment Management and Student Success
Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS) is the student affairs division of the college, located in the David Dubinsky
Student Center. The EMSS division houses the Dean of Students office and many student
support services.
Counseling Center
The confidential services at the Counseling Center are free to all registered and degree-seeking students. They offer 30-minute mental
health assessments, typically within 10 days of your initial request for treatment.
FIT-ABLE
FIT-ABLE, part of EMSS, serves students with diverse learning styles and supports students
with disabilities. The FITABLE office is located in the David Dubinsky Student Center,
5th floor.
Employee Resources
UCE of FIT
The United College Employees (UCE) is FIT's union. The UCE office is located in Business and Liberal Arts Center,
9th floor.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The FIT/UCE Employee Assistance Program is a jointly sponsored labor/management program. It is a free service designed to
assist employees who may be experiencing personal problems which can affect their
ability to function on the job.
Human Resources
Human Resources offers current employees information about work life at FIT ranging from benefits
to important policies and procedures.
Active Shooter Safety
Homeland Security emergency information for active shooter situation.
Information Technology
The Information Technology website is great resource in support of all college wide services includingbut not
limited to; classroom technology, email and wifi.
Support for faculty and students is available from Tech Help.
