Jill Hemingway | New York

This special doll was a gift from my boyfriend. He bought a mid-century modern house a few years ago as we both love 1960s modern design: fashion, art & architecture. The first time I saw the house, she was sitting on the shelf in my closet to welcome me. She is the perfect mod elf-on-a-shelf since I work in a fashion museum and she is head-to-toe decade appropriate styled for the 1964 house. After a bit of research, I found this is a rare 1960s Japanese hair color advertising doll. When new, she had a tag that read "Be a Living Doll. Use Color Essence Hair Color".
