Families in Transition
If you are unable to attend the Families in Transition session(s), you can review the information listed on this helpful FIT gateway developed for parents.
Dear FIT Parents and Families,
In just a few weeks, your student will join the FIT community and start a new journey with us. We have been busy planning for an engaging and informative New Student Orientation experience that we hope will allow your student to connect with peers and learn about the various support services and resources at FIT. It is in this spirit of engagement that we'd like to invite you to attend our Families In Transition welcome session taking place in person on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 12 pm EST.
Families in Transition is an opportunity for FIT families to get a feel for student life and to connect with other folks who will be making similar transitions. This session will include an interactive presentation on what to anticipate now that the young adults in your life are beginning a new journey. We aim to give you a unique perspective on how to support your students as they transition to FIT and feel secure that they are in good hands.
On Sunday, August 17th, the session will be hosted by Acting Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success, Dr. Tardis Johnson, Assistant Vice President for Student Success & Dean of Students, Dr. Corie McCallum, and Director for the Department of Student Life, Christie Graziano. After the official welcome session, we invite you to attend the Family Resource Fair, where you can learn about the many offices and services the College offers to support your student.
For planning purposes, please RSVP your attendance. Logistical and registration information is below.
