Graduate Tuition
Tuition for part-time programs is calculated on a per credit rate. For complete details on current tuition rates and fees, please visit the Bursar's Tuition and Fees pages.
Tuition rates for international students are the same as for out-of-state students. Per credit rates apply to winter and summer terms, as well as any semester where course load is less than nine (9) credit hours.
Average Fall Semester Bills
The following amounts are based on tuition, fees, and health insurance costs.
- Full-time non-resident student entering Fall 2025: $13,679
- Full-time New York state resident student entering in Fall 2025: $7,657
The following amounts are based on the cost of tuition and fees for a total of six (6) credit hours.
- Part-time non-resident student entering in Fall 2025: $6,187
- Part-time New York State resident student entering in Fall 2025: $3,175
Program-Specific Costs
When determining the cost of attendance for your program, please note that some programs may have supplemental out-of-pocket expenses outside of tuition and mandatory fees.
These costs may include books and supplies, professional memberships, travel, and personal expenses. These costs vary by program and may not be included in the overall cost of attendance (COA) as determined by the Office of Financial Aid..
Books and instructional materials: approx. $500 per year
MacBook: estimated at $1,500 (August of first year)
Required Field Study Courses
Companies and students should budget for three required field studies in the curriculum
as follows:
- first-year overseas field study course: approx. $8,500
- second-year domestic field study course: approx. $4,200
- second- year overseas field study course: approx. $8,500
These costs cover hotels, daily transport, meetings, workshops, and staffing. They do not include travel to and from the New York area or meals and incidental expenses.
Printing and fabrication: approx. $1,000
Travel: approx. $700–900
This estimated amount is for travel and accommodations to the Exhibitor Show in March.
You may attend optional conferences at an additional cost.
Entrance fees and industry memberships: $317
Texts/reading material: approx. $300–400
This estimated amount is for texts that you will only be able to purchase in print
format. Faculty members try to provide reading requirements in digital format as much
as possible.
Summer international seminar expenses: In addition to the cost of the three-credit tuition, each student will incur travel and other expenses of approximately $4,000 to $6,000 as well as an administrative fee of $600 to 800. These expenses will vary depending on the seminar destination and individual spending habits.
Thesis course fee: A Thesis Course Fee of $350 will be billed through the Bursar each semester to support thesis collection development and presentation.
Course books, materials, and laptops: Students are responsible for expenses for course books, materials and laptops. These expenses will vary each semester.
Course and thesis collection and campaign development expenses: Students are responsible for the costs of developing and making their own thesis collections, course assignments and portfolios as well as the photography and videography expenses to create collection campaigns. These expenses will vary each semester. "
Paris, Hong Kong, and Mexico seminars: It is recommended to budget approximately $4,000 per trip for the Paris, Hong Kong, and Mexico seminars; the cost of seminars is not included in tuition. An additional administrative fee of $450 for each international seminar will be required. These figures are approximations and will vary according to individual spending habits.
Los Angeles seminar: At the end of the second year of study, the class travels as a group to Los Angeles. Each student is responsible for the costof travel, food, and lodging during the trip. An additional administrativefeeof $450 is required for the Los Angeles seminar.
It is important to be mindful that as a graduate student, you may incur additional
individual expenses. These are not included in your cost of attendance and may vary
by individual choices related to location and circumstances
