Apply for Housing

How to Apply for Housing

Welcome! If you plan to live on campus at FIT, this page will guide you through the housing application process. Below you will find key deadlines, required steps, and helpful tips to ensure your application is complete and accurate.

Important Deadlines & Eligibility

Review housing application deadlines and make sure you submit your application on time. Missing a deadline may affect your housing options. The Residential Life Calendar has all application dates and deadlines.

Only admitted students are eligible to apply for campus housing. Be sure your admission status is finalized.

Steps to Apply

  1. Complete Your Admission to FIT
Housing applications are accepted only from students who have been officially admitted. Ensure all admission steps are finished. Remember it can take up to 3 days after you pay your admissions deposit to receive access to your Housing Portal.
  2. Submit the Housing Application
Log in to the student portal, locate the housing section, and fill out the application. Provide accurate information about your preferences (room type, roommate, special accommodations, etc.).
  3. Review & Agree to Policies
Part of the application includes understanding and agreeing to residence hall policies, community standards, and any health and safety requirements.
  4. Submit Supporting Information (If Needed)
If required, provide additional documentation (e.g. health/immunization records, disability accommodation forms). Check that all forms are submitted before the deadlines.
  5. Receive Confirmation
After your application is processed, you’ll receive confirmation including your housing assignment or, if applicable, wait list status.
