Internship Opportunities

FIT Library Special Collections & College Archives Internship and Volunteer Program

The FIT Library's unit of Special Collections and College Archives (SPARC) has opportunities for internships and volunteer positions each summer for undergraduate students, graduate students, or new professionals. Posts are structured around collection needs and include projects that involve research, digitization, metadata and taxonomy management, passive preservation, etc.

Priority consideration will be given to applicants with coursework in materials preservation (particularly paper and associated media), information science, archival management and research, or fashion history. Candidates must demonstrate strong research, analytical, computer, and writing skills, along with exceptional attention to detail.

Course credit may be given with the approval of the intern’s academic institution – credit is neither determined nor awarded by FIT. If a student's school has specific internship requirements, we will work with the program and comply with requirements as much as possible.

Please note that we are separate from the Museum at FIT, and do not hold garments. Information about the museum's internship program can be found in the Education section of their website.
