US citizens do not need to apply for a visa in advance of arrival for a study program od under six months. Instead, a routine UK Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is required to enter as a Standard Visitor.  All non-US citizens must carefully review UK visa requirements as they may need to apply in advance for a short-term study visa. Supporting documentation will be provided after admission.

FIT requires all students to be covered in the U.S. and internationally for the duration of their study abroad program. Students are automatically enrolled in the UHC Study Abroad Insurance, which is included in UW program budget sheet (google doc). This policy is SUNY-mandated, therefore, it cannot be waived.

The UHC Study Abroad Insurance is ACA compliant and students may waive the FIT Haylor Student Health Insurance using the Study Abroad policy.

UW believes that wellbeing is fundamental to a positive student learning experience. Students who are happy, confident and able to establish meaningful relationships are better placed to achieve good academic outcomes during their studies.  Wellbeing and other support services for UW's diverse student population can be found in the UW Students' Union.
