Break and Recess Housing

Outlined here are operational and service changes, hall closures, and application requirements during the academic breaks. Find out when and how students can remain on campus if needed, and what services are (or are not) available during those periods.

Break Periods and Recess Periods

Break and recess periods indicate a change in Residential Life operations:

  • Break periods: residence halls remain open, but may have modified levels of student support
  • Recess periods: residence halls are closed to all students

Please note that the recess and break periods on this page are approximate; review the FIT Academic Calendar for specific dates.
