Future Residents
Welcome

Congratulations on joining the FIT family. All of us at the Office of Residential Life are excited to welcome you to campus. As you start your journey, let us help guide the way.
FIT offers two residential areas, our 27th street area is right across from the main academic buildings and houses our first year and transfer students. Our 31st street area is a few blocks from the academic buildings and is home to our returning students or transfer students who wish to live with upperclass students.
New Student Housing Options

Alumni Hall
Alumni Hall is the largest of the 27th street halls with 17 floors and comprised of 4 person apartments with kitchens and bathrooms in unit.

CoEd Hall offers both 2 person traditional and apartment style rooms. Traditional rooms share two communal bathrooms per floor and apartments have in unit kitchens and bathrooms.

Nagler Hall
Nagler Hall is the smallest and original hall. Comprised of mostly double tradition rooms and a few single apartments.
What to Expect Living on Campus
Your Room and Living Space
Your residence hall room is more than just a place to sleep — it is your personal
space to study, relax, and connect with others. We encourage you to make it your own
while being mindful of the shared community experience.
Community Living
Residence life is about collaboration and respect. You will have the chance to meet
fellow students, engage in programs, and participate in activities designed to help
you feel at home. Our staff, including Resident Assistants and professional team members,
are here to provide guidance and support.
Resources and Support
From wellness services to academic support, you’ll have access to a wide range of
resources designed to help you succeed. If challenges arise, there are always people
available to assist you.
New Student Resources
The housing portal generally becomes active 24-48 hours after you submit an admissions deposit. You can find the portal linked in your myFIT page under Housing and Residential Life. If the portal is not appearing after a week please contact us for additional support.
If you need specific housing accommodations or want to register an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) you will need to apply and work with our Office of Disability Support (FITABLE). You can begin your ESA registration and housing request online or contact them at (212) 217-4090
All residential students are required to have a meal plan. Meal plans are billing and assigned by Reesidential Life after housing has been secured for a student. Additional dining information can be found on Campus Dish.
